Sam Curran wins player of the tournament

Sam Curran wins player of the tournament: Sam Curran of England was named Player of the Tournament for his outstanding use of the ball at the T20 World Cup in Australia. In addition to winning player of the match in the tournament’s final for a stretch of 3/12 in 4 overs that helped England win their second T20 World Cup, 24-year-old Curran claimed 13 wickets overall.

On Sunday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, England’s bowlers, led by Curran and with help from Adil Rashid, Chris Jordan, and Ben Stokes, restricted Pakistan to a subpar 137/8 after 20 overs. Then, after losing five wickets to Pakistan, England won to win the cup. Ben Stokes was outstanding with the bat as well, scoring his first T20 fifty in the championship.

Nine players were on the ICC’s shortlist for the T20 World Cup 2022 Player of the Tournament award. Voting by the audience was an opportunity given.

Two players from India 

The shortlist included five players from England and Pakistan, two from India, one each from Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

There were two standout batsmen, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar from team India in the list. Alex Hales, who had a great semi-final inning, joined England’s stars Jos Buttler and Sam Curran. The list included Shadab Khan and Shaheen Afridi from Pakistan. Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka, a wicket-taker, and Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe, an all-rounder, were given the remaining two berths.

Sam Curran bowled the best figures in the competition, taking 5 wickets for just 10 runs against Afghanistan in the Super 12. With an 11.38 average, Curran bowled. Curran went for runs in the semi-final match against India after taking 10 wickets during the Super 12 stage but was unsuccessful. In the final, he recovered and earned Man of the Match honours.

Not just that, Sam Curran also bowled the best figures of the tournament. He picked up 5 wickets for just 10 runs against Afghanistan in the Super 12 stage. Curran bowled with an average of 11.38. After picking up 10 wickets in the Super 12 stage, Curran had gone for runs and failed to pick any against India in the semi-final. He bounced back with player of the Match figures in the final.

Virat Kohli recorded the most runs in the T20 World Cup 2022 edition. He became the first player to accomplish this feat in two T20 World Cup competitions. Wanindu Hasaranga finished with 15 victories, taking the most wickets. Riley Rossouw’s brilliant 109-run century against Bangladesh. That was part of South Africa’s 205/5 tournament-high total. England finished the competition with the highest win percentage (83.3%).

Most runs in the tournament – Virat Kohli

The former Indian skipper made his intentions apparent by scoring 82 runs against Pakistan in the first match of the group round. For a total of 296 runs from six innings and a strike rate of 136.40. Kohli added three additional half-centuries, one of which came against England in the semifinal match.

Most wickets in the tournament – Wanindu Hasaranga

The star bowler of Sri Lanka has bagged 15 wickets in the tournament in his 8 innings at an economy of 6.41.
