Legendary Indian pacer Venkatesh Prasad has finally spoken about KL Rahul’s innings today. Rahul scored a gritty fifty today that helped India steer home despite bearing early blows. After this, Venkatesh Prasad took to Twitter to express his views about the innings.

What did Venkatesh Prasad say?

Prasad took to Twitter to heap praise on cricketer KL Rahul after he led India to victory with an impressive 75-run inning in the first One Day International match against Australia. Prasad’s tweet lauded Rahul’s excellent composure under pressure and described his innings as a “top knock.” He also mentioned the contribution of Ravindra Jadeja and celebrated India’s victory over Australia.

His tweet read, “Excellent composure under pressure and a brilliant innings by KL Rahul. Top knock. Great support by Ravindra Jadeja and a good win for India. #INDvAUS”

The tweet quickly gained popularity on Twitter, with cricket fans taking the opportunity to share their thoughts on the sudden change in Prasad’s stance. Some fans responded with humorous comments and memes, while others expressed surprise at Prasad’s positive remarks, considering his past criticism of Rahul’s performances.

India defeat Australia

Chasing a small target of 189, India had a rocky start. They lost opener Ishan Kishan in the second over itself as Marcus Stoinis drew first blood. After that, the wickets just kept on tumbling and at one point, India were reduced to 39 for 4 in just under 11 overs.

KL Rahul and captain Hardik Pandya tried to stabilize the Indian innings, while also maintaining the run flow. The duo put 44 runs in just about 9 overs before the Indian skipper was removed by Marcus Stoinis.

After that, it was the Rahul-Jadeja show. The left-right duo germinated a partnership of 108 runs for the sixth wicket to steer India home. Rahul scored an unbeaten 75 off 91 deliveries while Jadeja made a crucial 45 not out. Jadeja was awarded the Player of the Match for his all-round performance as the southpaw 2 wickets with the ball as well.
