Here’s what the Purple Cap looks like after today’s double header

The Purple Cap saw huge ups and downs after the doubleheader today. Ishaque went wicketless for the second match in a row, allowing Ecclestone, the No.1 ranked T20I bowler in the world, to move level with 12 wickets to her name. Ecclestone and Ishaque are now tied for the first spot.

MI’s golden run with the ball continues

MI have been exceptional with the ball this season, and this is reflected in the standings, with two more of their bowlers making it into the top 5. MI’s spinners, Hayley Matthews and Amelia Kerr had a good outing with the ball, which places them third and fourth on the Purple Cap list respectively. Matthews has taken 9 wickets so far, while Kerr has taken 8. The duo has been instrumental in MI’s success so far, providing crucial breakthroughs with their spin bowling.

Deepti Sharma, the all-rounder from UPW, has also picked up her form as the tournament has progressed. She now has nine wickets to her name and is placed sixth on the Purple Cap list after picking up figures of 2-35 in today’s crucial encounter. Sharma has been contributing with both bat and ball, making her an important player for UPW.

Garth feeling the heat

Kim Garth, who had a great start to the season, has now fallen down the standings but still manages to stay in the top 5 with 9 wickets to her name. Garth’s performances have been a major factor in DC’s success so far, and they will be hoping that she can continue to pick up wickets in the coming matches.

The battle for the Purple Cap is likely to get even more intense as the tournament progresses, and it will be interesting to see which bowlers rise to the occasion in the coming matches. With Ishaque’s lead marginalizing every day, it is very hard to say which bowler will remain at the top when the tournament ends.
